Thanks to all my Development Review Partners

Development review can be tough. Balancing the needs of the development community against the needs of current and future residents, the economy, infrastructure can be a tough job. When I think of my favorite development review experiences my thoughts are filled with people, not projects. Working with teams, the public, and professionals from other fields to co-create. Sometimes our exchanges were heated and sometimes they were hilarious, but without my development review partners, the projects I touched would be less. Thanks to all of you!

It was my first "spicy" development review project - a small affordable housing development next to an established neighborhood. In preparation for the public hearing before the Planning Commission I did everything by the book. I ensured compliance with all code requirements (zoning, density, parking, design guidelines, traffic, views, open space, utilities, etc.) and that the design met or exceeded every requirement. We had received a few comments from the public in opposition, but those comments didn't raise any concerns that would have required design changes to the project.
